We have taken strategies that have been proven to work over the last few years and put them all in one easy to access location. Each one of these best practices is designed to either increase membership in your database or increase activity of members that have already joined or both. They have all been used by existing clients with successful results. We have included an extensive list of strategies and examples for each strategic area, but there are really two that seem to have the most effectiveness. They are Audience Appointments and Local Prizing. The key to building a database is letting members know that the program exists and has benefits. Audience Appointments are a great way to mention the rewards club on air without creating clutter. Also, once members get interested in the rewards club they will start listening to your on air broadcast more to get more Audience Appointment answers. This will increase your time spent listening or viewing. If you do not talk about the rewards club on air, a large portion of your listeners will never know it is there.

The second way to promote the rewards club is to give away some local prizing in it and plug the prizing on air. Members enjoy visiting the site and interacting with your brand and the rewards club content. But at the end of the day they are most motivated by the chance to win the prizes. If you put up local prizes that are exclusive to the rewards club and then promote those prizes on air you will see an increase in your database size and also activity levels. A great example that we illustrate in the guide is to offer “another way to win” prizing. Giving away 5 pair of concert tickets on air to callers? Give away 4 instead and put 1 up in the rewards club as a contest. Every time you mention the on air giveaway tell listeners they can also go to the rewards section of your website for another way to win.
