This week, we will feature three new ideas you can adopt, execute and activate THIS WEEK in your loyalty program.  We’ll show you how to do it, and in some cases, provide examples.

The first idea is to  Use Personality Endorsement. Among the many good reasons to consider this is that involving personalities increases the likelihood that they will actively promote it!

There are many ways to use your most high profile celebrities inside the loyalty program.

Here are a few:

1)  Create premium or bonus content using video.  If you’re a television station, your reporters, anchors or other celebrities can present extra content using Home Page Promo, Page Host or several of the modules that allow members to earn points.  Radio shows can record a short 2-5 minute video of additional material, available online right after the show, only to members.  They don’t have to use points to see it, nor do you have to award points for viewing it.  It’s one of those “membership has privilege” perks that will attract a different type of member to your database, and provide additional reasons for your members to engage daily.

Here are a few practical applications of this idea:

When a guest or interview is aired, offer it anytime, “on demand” and do it inside the club…or, if you air an edited version, your online version may include all of the content….as Paul Harvey used to say, “the rest of the story”.

Another easy application is for your prime personalities to record a short commentary, or “bonus material” after their show ends.  This can range from exclusive behind the scenes moments (video tape and edit the meeting that plan’s tomorrow’s show) or could include content that is “too hot for on-air”.  It doesn’t have to be a high quality video…just use the video on a hand-held camcorder or your phone.

There are several modules to host video content.  The best is probably to use Home Page Promo.  It’s very high profile and easy to find.  Be sure this is updated daily, as dated content here can cause the program to feel “stale”.

If you create this content in Surveys, members can respond with their own comments through an open-ended question.  This makes it possible to promote this content aggressively and naturally on the air, and can extend the topic into the following day by using some of the comments.

2)  Introduce The Loyalty Club to new members using Home Page Promo.  As mentioned, Home Page Promo feature is prime real estate, and is under-utilitized by most.  Each member is exposed to this content every time they visit the main page of your club.  It’s a great place to showcase your best talent, or most high profile promotion.  If your club is new, use your celebrity talent to introduce the features and benefits of the club in a short video.  They can take prospective members through a tour of the features to show how easy and fun it is to participate.  If your club is well established, use personalities to promote your current contests, features or promotions inside the club!  Or, better yet, offer TWO video choices there…one for new visitors to get familiar with the club, and another for existing members to discover “new things to do this week”.

3)  Get in the habit of producing a short video introduction to surveys, with your brand’s spokesperson personally inviting and thanking the member for participating.  This a great way to encourage more response and make the audience feel good about participating.  You can insert video in any survey or trivia.  Combined with sharing information from the surveys back to members, you greatly increase the bond between your brand and members.
