Did you know that you can easily run the same piece of content across all of the programs in your cluster?

This applies not just to points earning opportunities but prizes as well.  That means that you can offer one prize to all the members in all of your programs at once.  This is also handy for surveying your entire cluster worth of databases instead of just one.

How do you do it?
All you need to do is set up your content as normal on the site of your choosing.  Once you have everything ready to go, simply send an email to success@tritonloyalty.com and be sure to include the Instance ID of your item and the name of the sites you need the item added to.  From there, our trusty support team will add your item to each of your sites in a jiffy!  It’s that easy!

The philosophy managing your points economy is something each administrator should spend time analyzing.  With focus, discipline, structure and planning, you can protect against aggressive point collectors accumulating millions of points and taking your prize opportunities hostage!

Birthday Messages | December 17, 2009

As you know, each member in your database receives a special message from you on their birthday.  It's one of those features in your Triton Loyalty program that is easy to set up, and also easy to forget!  To use it effectively, set a reminder on your calendar to change the birthday email on the same date each year. You would never send the same birthday card or gift to a friend year after year.  Your members are friends.  Respect the relationship and remember to update the content in birthday messaging.

A couple of other ideas to connect with your audience on their birthday:

Your Loyalty/Rewards program is a tremendous tool for facilitating dialogue with your audience. Each time you connect with a member is an opportunity to enhance your brand, position your product and connect in a meaningful way. Each contact affects their opinion of you.

Have you read your emails lately? Do they sound like you? Like your brand? Or are they a generic, heartless formula that merely transmits data without soul? Too often, we send stiff, standard messages that resemble business correspondence more than offering useful information in a style that a friend would expect.

Use each point of contact to your advantage. Here are some thoughts on how to improve communication with your members:

Getting permission to send an email is one thing, getting it delivered to the inbox can be quite another. The ISPs (Internet Service Providers) that host and maintain your subscribers’ email employ sophisticated filters to keep spam email content out of their users inboxes, and legitimate permission-based content often gets caught up in these filters.

Unfortunately, there is no simple formula to ensure your mail gets delivered to the inbox (if there was then spammers would use it as well). The filters employed by the ISPs are constantly changing to do battle with the latest spammer tactics. Most filters review the content of your message and apply a ‘score’ to your email based on certain characteristics that they consider common to spam messages. If your score gets too high, you get blocked. Here are some tips for keeping your score low and avoiding the spam folder:

We have had several requests lately to add the capability to auto-subscribe your opted-in database to new subscriptions as they are created. With the latest software update this is now available. Many of our clients are setting up subscriptions for "E-deal" advertiser special offer emails where the database is sent high value special offers from advertisers. This would be a great place to apply this new feature.

To create a populated subscription, follow the normal steps to create the subscription in the Admin, then click the new "Auto-Subscribe" button. All members who are opted-in to receive email will then be subscribed to the list.

As always, if you need help with this new feature, contact us at success@enticent.com .

Complying with CANSPAM | February 20, 2009

One of our US clients inquired with us about an email they were about to send.  Their email promoted one or more third party advertisers and they wanted to know what if any special handling they needed to do to stay in compliance with CANSPAM.  While we can not offer legal advice, and any questions like this should be vetted with your own legal team, we thought we would pass along the guidelines our legal team recommends we follow internally.

A Few Notes on Editing Your Email | November 24, 2008

We were excited to recently roll out full browser compliance with our StickyFish and Tribal Direct admin sites. As a part of that effort, we upgraded to a full cross-browser compliant HTML email editor.

The good news is you can now use either Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari to admin your sites and edit your emails, and the emails you create will be W3C compliant which will make your emails more accessible to more email clients in a more consistent manner.

Now for the bad news…
